Wall Art "dom hotel"

This exclusive wall art captures the vibrant heart of Cologne, the metropolis on the Rhine, in a fascinating dialogue between eras. At the center of the photograph, the delicate Neo-Renaissance facade of the historic Dom-Hotel meets the monumental Gothic west facade of the world-famous Cologne Cathedral. An urban perspective that unites history and timeless design.

The composition captivates with its high-contrast urban aesthetic: while the traditional Dom Hotel on Roncalliplatz gleams in warm, elegant stone tones, Cologne Cathedral soars majestically right beside it in its unmistakable, dark splendor. This interplay creates a unique architectural depth that instantly enhances any space, whether a living room, office, or gallery.

What makes this photograph special is that it captures a piece of Cologne’s recent history. After well over a decade hidden behind construction fences and tarps, the historic, protected exterior facade of the Dom Hotel, dating back to 1893, was finally unveiled in June 2025 as part of a spectacular comprehensive renovation. While the hotel’s interior was completely rebuilt, the historic facade - a technical masterpiece - remained standing in an empty space, supported by steel frameworks for years. With this work of art, you can bring home the perfect, flawless moment when this Cologne landmark shone once again in its full, historic splendor (Photographer: Dirk Eichler, 2022).
