Monumental symmetry and a deliberate interplay with light. Our photograph captures the urban pulse of Wuppertal from an extraordinary vantage point right on the Döppersberg. The view leads up the striking open staircase, drawing the viewer inexorably into the stately architecture of the former Federal Railroad Administration building.
The photograph was deliberately taken in extreme backlight - using the light itself as a compositional element. The light pours dynamically over the roof, creating delicate, ring-shaped highlights on the steps that elegantly break up the strict horizontal lines of the staircase. Flanked by the massive, layered natural stone walls, a fascinating interplay of deep shadows and radiant brightness emerges. Thanks to the high-contrast rendering of the image’s textures, every edge of the stone stands out vividly, lending the work a tangible, haptic depth. Composite panel made of two approx. 0.3 mm thick aluminum sheets and polyethylene core. Waterproof and suitable for protected outdoor areas. Including aluminum wall bracket (pre-assembled) and mounting material consisting of eccentric washers, dowels and screws *.
