MANUEL HEYWINKEL
Expressive photographs with clear lines and proportions, excitingly staged constructions of everyday life, light and shadow in impressive combinations: the works of our premium partner Manuel Heywinkel.
DEDICATION
Born in Bielefeld in 1974 and now living in Velbert, Manuel Heywinkel has been a cam/b ® Premium Partner since June 2025. Architectural photography (how could it be otherwise?) is one of the genres he has perhaps internalized more than any other and which fills him with dedication and enthusiasm.
INTERIEUR
In addition to the clean lines and shapes often found in architectural photography, Manuel Heywinkel also has a very special eye for interiors: his photographs of interior design range from cool black-and-white shots (such as a staircase in the Küppersmühle Museum) to bright orange chairs in front of an orange wall.
“For me, photography means showing more than what is visible. With a trained eye for composition, light, and atmosphere, I capture atmospheric perspectives and subtle interactions - whether in rooms, situations, or details of everyday life.”
But even classic everyday objects, such as a simple aluminum ladder in front of a blue wall, take on an almost mythical quality through Manuel Heywinkel's lens. However, the focus of his photographic work is on black-and-white photography, as evidenced by numerous publications such as Docu Magazine and Edge of Humanity Magazine.

ANALOG
The fact that Manuel Heywinkel does not consider digital photography to be the only decisive factor in his work is also evident in his own publications, “Manuel Heywinkel – Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografie” (Manuel Heywinkel – Black and White Photography) and “Manuel Heywinkel – (Farb-) Fotografie – Volume 01” (Manuel Heywinkel – (Color) Photography – Volume 01), which were presented at the Leipzig Book Fair in 2025.
“Light, shadow, and reflections lend depth to motifs, while lines and proportions create expression and tension. For me, the overall artistic picture is crucial: a balanced composition that not only documents, but also tells its own story.”

Why cam/b?
“I decided to sell my photos through cam/b ® because I am impressed by the whole concept: the shop design is modern and clear, and the branding and brand image are professional and consistent. Personal contact was also particularly important to me - the owners are very friendly and authentic, which makes all the difference for me.”
