Wuppertal in Photographic Focus

The new issue of the free online photo magazine “Perspectives / Proportions / Passion” - PPL for short is entirely dedicated to the city of Wuppertal. Under the title “Wuppertal Perspectives,” Issue No. 21 brings together a total of 17 guest contributions from photographers who each offer their own unique perspective on the city. We, too, are featured in this special issue with our own contribution and are very grateful for the opportunity to share our perspective on Wuppertal.

The result is a diverse collection of photographs that highlights just how differently Wuppertal can be seen and perceived. Familiar places appear in a new light, architectural details take center stage, urban scenes are reinterpreted, and well-known landmarks are juxtaposed with quiet, surprising, or abstract observations.

The photographs depict Wuppertal as both lively and tranquil, colorful and minimalist, familiar and unfamiliar. It is precisely these diverse photographic styles that give this edition its unique character.

“Wuppertaler Perspektiven” is thus not only a collaborative photography project but also helps to shine a special spotlight on Wuppertal. The diverse photographs convey a multifaceted and positive image of the city and spread this image beyond the city limits through the participating photographers, their Instagram accounts, and the freely accessible online magazine.

In addition to the 17 guest contributions, editor Manuel Heywinkel is featured in the issue with one of his own photographs.
