Andreas Kretzschmar
Dirk EichlerIn a world of visual overload, Andreas Kretzschmar takes a unique artistic approach based on deceleration and reduction. By focusing on black-and-white photography and a keen sense of the moment, he creates works that bring the inconspicuous into focus.
Photography is much more than simply depicting reality. It is about finding the hidden in the visible. Andreas Kretzschmar, cam/b ® Premium Partner since November 2025, describes his motivation as follows: “I am fascinated by preserving atmospheric moments for eternity and making the fleeting, often barely perceptible aspects of a moment visible.”
His decision to use monochrome photography is no coincidence, but rather a stylistic statement. While colors often distract, black and white leads the viewer directly to the core of the message.

“Black-and-white photography is my primary medium, as I appreciate the tranquility and specific moods these images convey. Without the distraction of color, the essence of a photograph is often conveyed much more directly to the viewer.”
The compositions predominantly follow a clear, aesthetic order. Lines, shapes, and the interplay of symmetry and deliberate asymmetry characterize the image. He often chooses unusual perspectives that emphasize structures and patterns that are usually overlooked in everyday life. The emotional levels of the works range from gentle melancholy and nostalgia to deep intensity and charismatic expression.
The choice of motifs also does not follow a rigid pattern, but rather intuitive curiosity. Whether architecture, interior design, street photography, detailed shots, or minimalist compositions—the decisive factor is always the moment.
“I don't have a fixed set of motifs. Sometimes the motifs find me – or find their way to me.”
Andreas Kretzschmar prefers to work with “available light,” i.e., the existing natural light, especially when taking portraits – also and above all to preserve the authenticity of the moment.
And quality does not end when you press the shutter button. To present these works appropriately, you need partners who appreciate the craft as much as the art itself. As a premium partner of cam/b, the photographer finds the ideal platform for this.
“As a premium partner of cam/b, I am offered an excellent opportunity to present my works authentically and in high quality. I feel very well taken care of by Dirk and Timo; we share the same idea of authentic and high-quality works and product concepts.”
This synergy of artistic vision and technical perfection in presentation results in exhibits that are not simply images, but preserved contemporary history.
