When you visit the new premises of activano Wuppertal GmbH on Elberfelder Neumarkt, you are not just entering a modern physiotherapy and occupational therapy practice. As in the modernized practice in Barmen on Zwinglistraße, the new practice on Neumarkt has also had a very special eye-catcher to admire since it opened on July 1, 2025: our special edition ART EDITION 125 years suspension railway in elegant black.

The artistic depiction of the individual suspension railway stations in the 14 therapy rooms, from Oberbarmen to Pestalozzistraße, is more than just decoration. It symbolizes the philosophy of a company that is firmly rooted in the region. Activano has been operating an established practice on Zwinglistraße in Barmen for many years. With its new, modern location in Elberfeld in the “Greenhouse,” the company is now building a proverbial bridge over the Wupper River.

Jan Feldker, managing director of activano Wuppertal GmbH, sums it up: “Even during the planning stage, it was important to us to create a place that embodies the spirit of Wuppertal.” The reference to the suspension railway was a conscious decision. “The suspension railway connects Barmen and Elberfeld—just like our two practices.” 

In the bright and modern rooms at Neumarkt, patients can now not only work on their health, but are also reminded of their connection to home every time they enter a therapy room. Instead of treatment in room 3 or room 4, for example, they are now asked to “Please come to the Wupperfeld room.”

Medicine and art do not have to be contradictory—this is abundantly clear in the new premises. And so the practice on Neumarkt is a place for healing and a sense of belonging in equal measure.

“The high-quality aluminum Dibond prints and the end result are equally impressive and exceed our expectations—and the professional collaboration with cam/b was very pleasant,” concludes Jan Feldker.
