Born in Bielefeld in 1974 and now living in Velbert, Manuel Heywinkel has been since June 2025 cam/b ® Premium Partner.

As a graduate engineer (FH), Manuel Heywinkel has been working full-time since the turn of the millennium in the planning and construction of buildings with a focus on sustainable project development, but his passion also lies in photography in particular.

Architectural photography (how could it be otherwise) is one of the genres that he has perhaps internalized more than others and that fills him with dedication and enthusiasm.

Expressive photographs with clear lines and proportions, excitingly staged constructions of everyday life, light and shadow in impressive combinations—and yet, alongside the photographs, some of which appear deliberately minimalist, the passion with which he created the images is always evident.

"For me, photography means showing more than what is visible. With a trained eye for composition, light, and atmosphere, I capture atmospheric perspectives and subtle interactions—whether in rooms, situations, or details of everyday life."

Since April 2024, Manuel Heywinkel has also been regularly exhibiting his works at exhibitions, where he presents them to interested viewers:

- Exhibition Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografie
  May-June 2025, FotoForum Wuppertal
- Exhibition Black & White in Unfinished Core
  October 2025, Essen
- Exhibition l`une & l`autre mit Monika Geisler
  November 2025, Cologne
- Exhibition FARBRAUM
  September 2026, FotoForum Wuppertal

In addition to the clean lines and shapes often found in architectural photography, Manuel Heywinkel also has a very special eye for interiors: his photographs of interior design range from cool black-and-white shots (such as a staircase in the Küppersmühle Museum) to bright orange chairs in front of an orange wall.

"Light, shadow, and reflections lend depth to subjects, while lines and proportions create expression and tension. For me, the overall artistic picture is crucial: a balanced composition that not only documents, but also tells its own story."

But even classic everyday objects, such as a simple aluminum ladder in front of a blue wall, take on an almost mythical quality in Manuel Heywinkel's hands.

However, the focus of his photographic work is on black-and-white photography, as evidenced by numerous publications such as Docu Magazine and Edge of Humanity Magazine.

"I decided to sell my photos through cam/b because I am impressed by the whole concept: the shop design is modern and clear, and the branding and brand image are professional and consistent. Personal contact was also particularly important to me—the owners are very friendly and authentic, which makes all the difference for me."

The fact that Manuel Heywinkel does not consider digital photography to be the only decisive factor in his work is also evident from his own publications, “Manuel Heywinkel – Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografie” (Manuel Heywinkel – Black and White Photography) and “Manuel Heywinkel – (Farb-) Fotografie – Volume 01” (Manuel Heywinkel – (Color) Photography – Volume 01), which were presented at the Leipzig Book Fair in 2025..
