Exclusive stadium tour
Dirk EichlerThe "Stadion am Zoo" in Wuppertal, opened in 1924 and with a total capacity of 21,000 spectators, was and is the venue for numerous top sporting events.
The stadium was extensively renovated in the early 1990s. Located directly on the River Wupper, the suspension railroad and not far from Wuppertal Zoo, this beautiful building is one of the city's landmarks.

The Stadion am Zoo became famous thanks to Wuppertaler SV, which has had its home ground here since 1954 and was even able to establish itself in the 1st Bundesliga between 1972 and 1975.
Numerous top Bundesliga clubs have been guests here over the years, such as FC Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 - and ZDF has also used the stadium for an outside bet on Wetten, dass ...?
Back in 1938, the German national team was a guest at the Stadion am Zoo and defeated Luxembourg 2:1 in a friendly match. Both goals were scored by Jupp Gauchel, the first of which was a penalty in the 6th minute.
his exclusive photo walk was organized by Wuppertal Marketing, the municipal sports and bathing department and with the support of Wuppertaler SV - and so we and other Wuppertal photographers were able to take a look behind the scenes of this fantastic stadium in an exclusive guided tour.
Many thanks at this point!
